Turkey keeps close eye on developments in Iraq’s Sulaymaniyah province
(MENAFN) Türkiye announced on Friday that it is keeping a close watch on recent developments in Iraq’s Sulaymaniyah province, located within the Kurdish Regional Government (KRG), with a focus on maintaining peace in the region and ensuring the safety of Turkish nationals.
"We are closely monitoring developments in the city of Sulaymaniyah in terms of Iraq's stability and peace, as well as the safety and security of our citizens," said Oncu Keceli, spokesperson for the Turkish Foreign Ministry, in a statement.
According to the announcement, the Turkish Consulate General in Erbil has been in contact with local authorities, and precautionary steps have been taken to safeguard Turkish citizens in the area.
