Pelnox grows in the U.S. with SilkyLink® MFX-1100 flexible Ag/AgCl film and Peltron® K-398X printable inks for medical electrodes and biosensors.

HADANO CITY, KANAGAWA, JAPAN, August 19, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Pelnox, Ltd. is expanding U.S. availability ... screen-printable Ag/AgCl conductive inks

The company provides product samples, material selection assistance, and technical consultation tomedical device manufacturers, electrode developers, biosensor companies and research institutions ... ECG/EKG, EEG and surface EMG electrodes; defibrillator and AED pads; printed reference electrodes, and a wide range of biosensor technologies. Final suitability, safety, and regulatory compliance must be evaluated by the manufacturer for each intended application.

Flexible Ag/AgCl Electrode Film Simplifies Electrode Fabrication

SilkyLink® MFX-1100 is a thin, flexible electrode material consisting of an Ag/AgCl electrode layer formed on a flexible conductive film.

Because the material can be cut or die-cut into the desired shape, manufacturers can evaluate prototypes and develop products without establishing an in-house Ag/AgCl printing and curing process.

Representative values include:

• Overall thickness: approximately 103 μm
• Ag/AgCl electrode layer: approximately 3 μm
• Surface resistance: approximately 0.8 Ω/sq

The flexible substrate is designed to accommodate electrode designs that conform to curved surfaces and body movement. The material is designed to maintain low impedance at low frequencies, supporting evaluation in applications such as bioimpedance measurement and biopotential signal acquisition, including ECG/EKG, EEG and surface EMG electrodes.

The values above are representative and are not guaranteed specifications. Contact Pelnox for the latest technical data, measurement methods and applicable test conditions.

Flexible Electrode Material Designed to Be Less Visible During X-ray Imaging

Unlike conventional electrode materials that use metal foil as the primary substrate, SilkyLink® MFX-1100 features a different material construction.

Based on internal evaluations, Pelnox has observed that the electrode material may be less visible during X-ray imaging than electrode constructions based on metal foil. This characteristic makes it a potential material option for devices such as defibrillator pad systems and patient monitoring electrodes that may remain in place during X-ray imaging.

X-ray visibility depends on the complete electrode construction —including the gel, adhesive, terminals, wiring, and other components—as well as the imaging conditions. Performance must be evaluated using the finished device under the intended imaging conditions.

Screen-Printable Ag/AgCl Conductive Inks with Multiple Ag:AgCl Ratios

For manufacturers seeking to design proprietary electrode geometries, surface areas, or conductive patterns, Pelnox also offers the Peltron® K-398X Series of screen-printable Ag/AgCl conductive inks. The Peltron® K-398X Series is available in multiple grades with different Ag:AgCl ratio, allowing developers to select a starting grade according to the intended application, electrode structure, electrolyte or gel composition, required electrochemical performance and expected service conditions.

The products are supplied as high-viscosity paste formulations designed for screen-printing processes. They can create electrode geometries and conductive patterns printed reference electrodes, electrochemical sensors and biosensors.

Key features include:

• Multiple grades with different Ag:AgCl ratios
•Flexible design of electrode geometries, surface area, and conductive patterns
•Suitable for continuous screen-printing using screen-printing processes
•Designed for flexible substrates with bending resistance after curing
•Intended for evaluation in applications including ECG/EKG, EEG and surface EMG electrodes; electrical-stimulation devices; printed reference electrodes; defibrillator and AED pads; CGM and glucose sensors; biosensor development

A standard curing condition is 130 °C for 20 minutes. Appropriate conditions should be determined according to the substrate, electrode design and intended application. Appropriate printing parameters, coating thickness, and curing conditions should be determined according to the substrate and electrode design used in each application.

Choosing Between Ag/AgCl Electrode Film and Conductive Ink Pelnox, Ltd. can recommend an initial material based on the electrode structure, substrate, measurement method, manufacturing process and required electrochemical performance. This allows developers to select materials that best match their product design requirements and manufacturing environment.

Request Ag/AgCl Material Samples and Technical Consultation

Pelnox welcomes inquiries from medical device manufacturers, electrode and biosensor developers, and research institutions regarding:

• Product and grade selection based on the intended application
• Material selection and application consultation
